Week 11 is here, and we have a great slate of games this week. Week 10 was a rough watch with several blowouts, especially in the 4 PM window. This week, we have an AFC North classic matchup between the Ravens and Steelers as well as a Bills vs. Chiefs showdown. From a betting perspective, we started off the week with a TNF Best Bet win when Zach Ertz hit his receiving over. Today, I have picked out 4 Best Bets and threw together an Anytime TD parlay that covers the entire day. This should be a great day of ball, and I can’t wait until kickoff. Let’s make some money!
First things first, the Best Bets:
Best Bets
- Jonathan Taylor Rush Yards o81.5 (-110) FanDuel
- George Pickens Receiving Yards o70.5 (-110) FanDuel
- Khalil Shakir Receptions o5.5 (-102) FanDuel
- Joshua Palmer Receiving Yards o33.5 (-113) FanDuel
Best Bet Background- Jonathan Taylor Rush Yards o81.5
The Colts are facing the Jets today at 1 PM EST in MetLife stadium. Both of these teams have had messy and disappointing seasons so far. The Colts have been switching between Anthony Richardson and Joe Flacco at quarterback. The Jets are having a typical season for the Jets. They fired their head coach, brought in a ton of talent on offense, and are somehow getting worse. The area that they have been struggling the most has been their rush defense. They rank 25th in the league allowing 134 yards per game. Jonathan Taylor has been a consistent producer for this Colts offense. He has gained over 80 yards on the ground in 5/7 games so far this year. He has gone for over 100 yards in 4 games. With the Colts struggling to pass the ball, I expect Taylor to be heavily involved today and he ill have a great matchup against a Jet defense that is falling apart.
Best Bet Background -George Pickens Receiving Yards o70.5
The main beneficiary of Russell Wilsons emergence as the Steelers starter has been wide receiver George Pickens. In the 3 games that Wilson has started, Pickens has gained 111,74, and 91 yards. He has clearly become Wilson’s favorite target. These two have been working on their chemistry and it has shown up in the box score. They have an AFC North rivalry game today with the Ravens. The Ravens are coming off of a 1-point victory over the Bengals on Thursday Night Football. The inability to defend the pass showed up once again for the Ravens as they allowed Joe Burrow to pass for 428 yards. 264 of those yards went to wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase. The Ravens have been the worst pass defense in the league this year and there are no signs that it will improve anytime soon. To add injury to insult, they lost their All-pro Safety, Kyle Hamilton, for several weeks. Since they are the best rush defense in the league, I expect the Steelers to rely on their pass game in order to move the ball. Pickens should be due for a big game against a Ravens secondary that gives up a ton of yards.
Best Bet Background – Khalil Shakir Receptions o5.5
Khalil Shair has quietly become Josh Allens favorite target this year. He leads the Bills in receptions (48) and yards (529) this year. Today, the Bills are taking on the Chiefs without their other top targets. Dalton Kincaid and Keon Coleman are going to be missing in action today. Amari Cooper looks like he should play but he will also be limited by injury. That means that Allen will have to rely on Shakir, Mack Hollins, Dawson Know, and James Cook. I expect Shakir to be the focal point of the passing attack for today’s game. In the past 4 weeks, he has averaged 7 receptions and is averaging 8.25 targets. He is heavily involved and has shown that he can be trusted to catch the ball. With the injuries to the Bills receiver room and a competitive game, I expect Shakir to be heavily involved once again.
Best Bet Background -Joshua Palmer Receiving Yards o33.5
The LA Chargers are hosting the Cininnati Bengals in primetime. This should be an interesting game as the Bengals have their backs against the wall. They go against a very tough Chargers team led by coach Jim Harbaugh. The Chargers like to play a physical type of football. They run the ball fairly well and do not let team’s score. They are currently the best defense in the league in terms of points allowed. They are only allowing 13.1 points per game. The Bengals have been scoring 26 points per game so something will have to give tonight.
The Chargers offense is centered around the run as they have JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards running the rock. quarterback Justin Herbert has been on a tear recently as he is building chemistry with this new offense. One under the radar guys on this team has been Joshua Palmer. He is second on the team in receiving yards with 342. That puts his average per game at 42.8. He has gained over 33.5 yards in 6 out of the 8 games that he has played. The only 2 times that he did not gained over 33 yards were the first two games of the season. He has been consistently over this mark in the past 6 games. The Bengals are 23rd in the league against the pass. In a game that could feature plenty of passing, look for Palmer to carve out his usual production and gain over 33.5 yards.
