Our Best Bets went 3-1 yesterday and now we are at a familiar spot. The Best Bets currently stand at 3-2 for the week and tonight is the hit the elusive 60% mark for the week. Tonight, we have a Monday Night Football game between the Ravens and the Chargers aka The Harbowl. It should be a great matchup between two teams coached by Jim and John Harbaugh in a battle of sibling rivalry. I have gone through the available bets for tonight and picked the one that I think will hit. Let’s make this money!

Ravens @ Chargers
The 7-4 Ravens travel out to Los Angeles to take on the 7-3 Chargers. Both of these teams have a ton of crossover between them. The Chargers OC, Greg Roman, and DC, Jesse Minter, have both worked for the Ravens. There are a couple of former Ravens players like J.K Dobbins and Gus Edwards on the Chargers. Of course, the main story line will be the Harbaugh brother connection. On the field, these teams are similar. They both are built to run the ball and rely on a tough brand of football. This will be the first matchup between the two brothers since the Superbowl between the 49ers and the Ravens, where John Harbaugh was able to win. The Ravens are coming off of a hard-fought loss to Steelers while the Chargers are flying high after a Sunday Night victory over the Bengals.
The Ravens on offense are one of the more explosive and balanced teams in the league. They are 2nd in points scored per game, averaging 30.4 points per game. They are built to run the ball with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. They currently rank 2nd in rush yards, averaging 177 yards per game. Henry is in the running for the rushing title this year and Lamar is playing at a MVP level. The pass offense is 3rd in the league, averaging 252 yards per game. The balanced approach that this team can employ makes it difficult for any team to matchup against them. However, they were stymied las week against the Steelers and face a Chargers defense that lets up the least amount of points per game in the NFL. It will be a great matchup to watch.
On defense, the Ravens are still struggling to defend the pass. They are allowing 284 yards per game, which is the most in the NFL. On the ground, they are only allowing 77 yards per game, which is 2nd in the league. One key piece to keep i mind for the run defense tonight, the Ravens will be without their star linebacker Roquon Smith. The run game might be in play for the Charger. They have also been struggling to keep teams out of the endzone. They are allowing 24.6 points per game, which is 23rd in the league. The pass defense is going to be a constant concern for this team. They continue to struggle to close teams out for their offense. That would be a matchup to keep an eye on tonight.
The Chargers offense has been solid. They won’t blow you away with their numbers, but they do not have any shocking weaknesses. They are averaging 22 points per games, which is 18th in the league. They are built to run the ball and are averaging 121 yards per game, which is 12th in the NFL. They have begun to rely more on the arm of Justin Herbert as of late, but they are 19th in the league for pass yards, averaging 204 yards per game. They have a favorable matchup against a Baltimore defense that cannot stop the pass.
On defense, the Chargers are very balanced as well. They are allowing the least amount of points per game, only allowing 14.5 points per game. They are 12th against the pass, allowing 206 yards per game, and are 11th against the run, allowing 110 yards per game. This is going to be the interesting matchup for tonight. We will see how this Chargers defense, which just let the Bengals pass all over them, stack up against the Ravens high flying offense. They will certainly have their work cut out for them tonight.
Best Bet Background – Lamar Jackson Passing Yards over 235.5
Lamar has been having an MVP caliber season so far. He is currently second in the odds race for MVP (+300), only trailing Josh Allen (+135). He is averaging 261.5 yards per game and has 25 TDs and 3 INTs. To add to these impressive numbers, he is averaging 53.1 yards rushing per game. Tonight, I expect him to bounce back after a tough outing against the Steelers with a true Lamar type of game. The Chargers have been solid against the pass, but the Ravens are a different beast. The Bengals showed last week that there are opportunities to pass on this Chargers defense. Additionally, the Ravens pass defense has been allowing opposing teams to stay in the game or even force Baltimore to play from behind. Either way, that forces Baltimore to continue to pass the ball. Lamar has pass for over 236 yards in 8 out of 11 games this year and he should be able to do it again tonight.
