Best Bet Background- Chiefs/Texans Under 42.5

The Texans are traveling to Kansas City to take on the 13-1 Chiefs. Coming into this game, there were questions about whether or not Patrick Mahomes would be starting for the Chiefs. He sustained a mild ankle sprain last week and was not able to finish the game against the Browns. However, he is now officially off of the injury report and will be playing. This has been the trend for Mahomes in the past few years as he has a history of gritting through ankle injuries. He faces a Texans defense that can get after the quarterback so we will see if he is able to finish the game. To add in some concern, the Chiefs will once again be without their starting left tackle as DJ Humphries is still hurt. I do not foresee the Chiefs putting up a ton of points today as the offense will likely struggle against this tough Texans defense. Luckily for them, they have a very good defense as well. The Texans have not been the same offense that they were last season and have been struggling to sustain drives. This is most likely due to their inability to protect CJ Stroud. They are second in the league in sacks allowed this year. It is hard to sustain drives when you are constantly losing yards. I see a low scoring game as these teams slug it out. It should also be noted, per Teamrankings.com, that the Texans are 4-10 against the over. That means that in 70% of their games, they achieve the under. The Chiefs are not much better as they are hitting the under in 57.1% of their games.

Best Bet Background – Ravens/Steelers Under 44.5

This AFC North matchup has plenty of history. For the sake of today’s bet, we are looking specially at the historic trend of the under. These teams know each other so well at this point, that it has been difficult for either squad to put up points. In the last 10 games, the Steelers are 8-2 against the Ravens. In those 10 games, they have only combined to score over 45 points 2 times. Earlier this year, they faced off against one another and the Steelers once again won 18-16. I know that Lamar Jackson is having an MVP type season as he is leading the 3rd highest scoring offense in the league but with this division rivalry, you have to lean on the historical data. That data shows that the Steelers have Lamars number and that there will most likely not be many points scored. In the cold weather of Baltimore, I expect this to be yet another smashmouth game with not too many points being scored. This should be a tight one that ends up under 45 points.
