Merry Christmas! We have a special Christmas day double header which means that we have two Best Bets to place. We are coming off of week where our Best Bets went 4-4, so we are continuing to try and break the trend of hitting exactly half of our bets. This week provides plenty of chances as we have NFL football on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We are going to get this week started off right by hitting our Best Bets today. FanDuel is providing No Sweat Parlays so I would take advantage of that as well. I put together a parlay that I think will hit. Let’s make some money!
Best Bets
Marquise Brown Receiving Yards over 39.5
Dalton Schultz Receiving Yards over 38.5
Chiefs @ Steelers
Match-up Overview and History
The 14-1 Kansas City Chiefs are traveling to Pittsburgh to take on the 10-5 Steelers. The Chiefs are leading the AFC and need to win today in order to secure the number 1 spot for homefield advantage. The Steelers have clinched their spot in the playoff spot despite struggling in recent weeks. These teams have a decent amount of history with 37 games played between the two of them. The Steelers hold in the edge with a 23-14 series lead. The Chiefs have won the last 3 straight, including the most recent in January of 2022, which was a 42-21 KC victory. Today, the Chiefs are favored by 2.5 points and the point total is set at 43.5. The weather is set to be in the mid 30’s with no precipitation.
Best Bet Background – Marquise Brown Receiving Yards over 39.5
Marquise “Hollywood” Brown made his Chiefs debut on Saturday, and it was apparent that the Chiefs wanted to get him the ball. He caught 5 balls on 8 targets and went for 45 yards. He was brought in during the offseason to add some speed and reliability to the receiver’s room. He faces a familiar opponent today in the Steelers. He has played 7 games against the Steelers during his time as a Baltimore Raven. Today, the Steelers will be without their number 1 corner, Joey Porter Jr. That is a big blow to a secondary that has shown that they can be taken advantage of. The Steelers are 20th in the league when defending the pass. They are allowing an average of 220 yards per game through the air. I anticipate a back-and-forth game, but Hollywood Brown should be able to get 40 yards once again.
Ravens @ Texans
Match-up Overview and History
The 10-5 Ravens are traveling to Houston to take on the 9-6 Texans. The Texans have had an up and down season and are coming off of a loss to the Chiefs on Saturday. The Ravens have seemingly found their stride as they have won two straight and are right in the thick of the AFC playoff race. These teams have some history as they have played each other 14 times. The Ravens have dominated the Texans so far, holding a 12-2 record against them. The most recent game was the playoff game in January 2024 where the Ravens won 34-10. The Ravens are favored by 5.5 points and the point total is set at 46.5.
Best Bet Background – Dalton Schultz Receiving Yards over 38.5
Shultz has been underused in this Houston offense. He has the perfect opportunity this week to change that. The Texans are going to be without two of their top three targets in the pass game. Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs will be missing today with injury, so Shultz will be the next man up in the pass game. The Ravens are letting up the second most pass yards in the NFL this year. Ironically enough, they shut down the run so well that they force teams to throw against them. I would expect Shultz to play a larger role in today’s offense and he should hit over 39 yards fairly easily.
No Sweat Parlay (+974)
- Kareem Hunt TD
- George Pickens 50+ Receiving Yards
- Mark Andrews TD
