Week 17 keeps on going with a skinny Sunday slate. Our Best Bets went 2-1 yesterday, which puts us at 3-3 for the week. Today does not have the greatest games lined up as the playoff picture is pretty much solidified but there are still bets and money to be made! I have gone through the slate today and picked 4 Best Bets for the day and provided some background on each. Let’s make some money!
First things first, the Best Bets:
Best Bets
- Tyrone Tracy Jr. Rush Yards over 47.5
- Bucky Irving Rush Yards over 85.5
- Justin Jefferson Receiving Yards over 88.5
- Terry McLaurin Receiving Yards over 65.5
Best Bet Background- Tyrone Tracy Jr. Rush Yards over 47.5
Nothing has been going right for the Giants lately. They have injuries piling up left and right as the team is plummeting towards the first pick in April’s draft. One bright spot has been the 5th round pick Tyrone Tracy Jr. He has had several 100-yard games this season. His production has fallen off ever since the release of Daniel Jones, which is probably why his line is so low for today. The Giants are hosting the Colts on a wet and cold day in the meadowlands. With Drew Lock in at quarterback, the Giants should not be planning to pass the ball that much. Instead, they have a match-up against one of the worst run defenses in the league. The Colts run defense are ranked 28th and are allowing 136 yards per game. Since neither of these teams score a ton of points, this may end up being a tight game where the run is going to be important. Tracy should be able to break a couple of longer runs and get up around the 50 yards mark.
Best Bet Background – Bucky Irving Rush Yards over 85.5
The last time that Bucky Irving faced the Carolina Panthers, he rushed the ball 25 times for 152 yards in an overtime victory. The Bucs are facing the Panthers again today in a must win scenario. The Panthers have the worst urn defense in the league. They are allowing 175 yards per game. In the last four games, they have allowed over 200 yards on the ground. Even with the carries being split between a few backs, Bucky should receive the lions share and tear up this Carolina defense. It should be a big day for the Tampa Bay running backs and I would expect Bucky Irving to easily gain over 86 yards.
Best Bet Background – Justin Jefferson Receiving Yards over 88.5
There are only two 4 PM games this week and it is clear which one is going to be the more impactful and exciting. The Vikings are taking on the Packers in an NFC North battle that may have playoff seeding implications. The Vikings pass game has gotten hot at the right time. Their quarterback, Sam Darnold, has continued his resurgent season and has been relying on the many weapons that this offense has to offer. The top weapon has always been number 18, Justin Jefferson. Jefferson has been having a quiet year (for him) but has been coming up big lately. The Packers will be without two starters in their secondary today, which could be a big boost for this Vikings offense. Jefferson has been averaging 92.5 yards per game this year so the 88.5 mark is well within his capability. He should have a field day against this Packers defense.
Best Bet Background – Terry McLaurin Receiving Yards over 65.5
Scary Terry has been having a fantastic year now that he has a consistent quarterback. Him and Jayden Daniels have built a chemistry that has led to a ton of success. They will need to continue that trend tonight as they face off against the Falcons in primetime. McLaurin has been averaging 68.6 yards per game this year. He has the favorable matchup tonight as the Falcons are the 21st ranked pass defense in the league. They are allowing 223 yards per game through the air. There should be plenty of chances for Washington to pass on this defense and when they do, they will lean on their leading receiver in McLaurin.
