We have made it to the end of the year. Week 18 kicks off on Saturday with a double header of AFC north. We have a 4:30 game between the Browns and the Ravens. Then at 8:00, we have the Steelers and Bengals. I have gone through the two games and picked a best bet for each game. Luckily, it looks like all four teams are not resting their starters as there are still playoff implications for 3 out of the 4 teams today. Let’s make some money!

First things first, the Best Bets:

Best Bets

  • Derrick Henry Rush Yards over 90.5 (-110) FanDuel
  • Jaylen Warren Receiving Yards over 21.5 (-110) FanDuel
Best Bet Background- Derrick Henry Rush Yards over 90.5

Derrick henry has been averaging 111 yards per game this year. Today, he faces a 3-13 Browns team that is trotting out Bailey Zappe at quarterback. It certainly appears that the Browns are punting on this game. Coming into today, they are allowing 124 rush yards per game, which is 19th in the league. The Ravens are HEAVY favorites (the line is -19.5) so I think it is safe to assume that they will be playing with a lead and will be relying on their run game today. There is also an outside shot that Henry can join the 2,000-yard mark today. He needs to run for 217 to break the 2K mark for the second time in his career. While I don’t believe he will necessarily be chasing personal accolades, I do believe that he is poised to have a big day against a Browns team that is already looking ahead to the offseason. Additionally, the Browns defense will be missing their starting defensive tackle in Dalvin Tomlinson and their starting linebacker in Jordan Hicks. Henry should be able to keep up his 100 yard per game pace fairly easily today.

Best Bet Background – Jaylen Warren Receiving Yards over 21.5

In the second game of the double header, the Bengals and Steelers face off with some heavy playoff implications. The Steelers are trying to avoid a 4-game losing streak as they head into the playoffs. The Bengals are fighting for their playoff lives. They need a win and some help to sneak in and they would love to do it at the expense of one of their AFC North rivals. However, the problem that has faced this Bengals team all year has been their defense. More specifically, their pass defense. They are allowing 230 yards per game through the air, which is 24th in the league. The Steelers do not have a prolific passing game and there seems to be a ton of noise around their number one wide receiver, George Pickens. So I am looking at other targets for Russ Wilson to rely upon. One that has jumped out is running back Jaylen Warren. He has gained over 22 yards through the air in 6 of the last 8 games that he has played. He has shown explosiveness in both the pass and run game. He has the 4th most yards on the Steelers and the 3rd most receptions, so he is clearly a large part of their pass game. With the Bengals struggling against the pass and the run, a running back receiving total seems like an easy pick. I would expect Warren to have over 20 yards before half today.
