The playoffs kicked off yesterday with two blowout games that went a bit differentially than most people saw them going. As a result, our Best Bets went 0-2 yesterday. Not the ideal start to the playoffs but we have 3 games today in which we can bounce back. The Broncos and the Bills kick off at 1:00 PM. Then at 4:30 PM, we have the Packers taking on the Eagles. The third game between the Commanders and Buccaneers starts at 8:00. I have gone through the slate today and Best Bets for each game and provided some background on each. FanDuel is offering a no sweat token for parlays today, so I threw together a parlay for the day as well. Let’s make some money!

First things first, the Best Bets:

Best Bets

  • Marvin Mims Jr. Receiving Yards over 41.5 (-110) FanDuel
  • Emmanuel Wilson rush Yards over 10.5 (-110) FanDuel
  • Jayden Daniels Rush Yards over 53.5 (-110) FanDuel
Best Bet Background- Marvin Mims Jr. Receiving Yards over 41.5

Marvin Mims Jr. has elevated himself into the big play role in their Denver Broncos offense. Earlier in the season, he was struggling to average 1 reception per game. Over the last 5 games, he is averaging 4.6 receptions and 68.2 yards per game. He has become a great complement to Courtland Sutton on the other side of the field. Sean Payton has been finding ways to get the ball into Mims hands as much as possible lately. He lines up in several positions and can get the ball on handoffs, screens, or on a deep ball. He has a favorable matchup today against the Buffalo Bills pass defense. The Bills are the 24th ranked pass defense in the league, allowing 226 yards per game. With the Broncos being an underdog, you can expect them to be passing the ball quite a bit. Their rookie qb, Bo Nix, has been progressing all year and has come into his own in the past few months. I would expect him to have a decent box score day today and I believe that he will need to rely on Mims to keep this game competitive. Mims should be able to gain over 41 yards today.

Best Bet Background – Emmanuel Wilson rush Yards over 10.5

Emmanuel Wilson has been the backup to Josh Jacobs all year. However, he has gotten some chances this year to have an impact. I believe the line of 10.5 is very attainable for Wilson. He has rushed for over this total in 13/17. He is averaging just above 6 carries per game and is averaging 4.9 yards per carry. If he keeps to this pace, he should hit this in 3 carries. He faces a tough Philly defense today. They are the best pass defense in the league, so it will be tough for the Packers to throw against them. Their “weak spot” has been rush yards allowed. I say “weak” because they are the 10th ranked rush defense, allowing 104 yards per game. Wilson is brought in as a change of pace back so he could potentially catch the defense sleeping and get this in one carry.

Best Bet Background – Jayden Daniels Rush Yards over 53.5

The probable rookie of the year, Jayden Daniels, gets into his first primetime playoff game. He faces the same opponent that he did in his first NFL start. These teams faced each other in Week 1, where the Bucs blew out the Commanders, 37-20. That was probably the worst game that the Commanders had all year. They have figured it out since then. Jayden Daniels dealt with injuries throughout the year that kept him from running all over the field but he is in full health and poised for a big playoff debut. Despite the slow first week and the injuries, Daniels managed to average 52.4 yards per game on the ground. The Bucs defense that he faces tonight is the 4th best rush defense in the league. They are allowing 97 yards per game. So, the Washington running backs may be in for a tough day. However, they have shown that they can give up rush yards to mobile quarterbacks. Just earlier this year they gave up 88 yards to Jayden Daniels himself. I would expect him to have some similar success tonight in running the ball.

Parlay (+2384)

  • Bo Nix Anytime TD
  • Josh Jacobs Anytime TD
  • Bucky Irving Anytime TD
