We got back on track yesterday with our Best Bets going 2-0. Kareem Hunt came up big in the 4th quarter to hit his rushing total and then Jahmyr Gibbs cashed in the first half for the second game. Today, we have two more games to bet on and we are going to keep this win streak going. The first game between the Rams and Eagles kicks off in Philadelphia 3:00 PM and then game two between the Ravens and Bills starts at 6:30 PM in Buffalo. The weather in Philadelphia is supposed to be cold and wet. There is potential for snow and a wintery mix which means that passing the ball is going to be difficult for both teams. These teams did face each other earlier this year and Saquon Barkley went off against this Rams defense. He was on pace to break the single game rushing record if he didn’t sit. The Eagles went on to win that game 37-20. However, the playoffs tend to change things. The Rams are coming off an emotional win against the Vikings and their defense, which has been playing lights out, played a huge part in that victory. Their defense will need to show up once again to keep the Eagles off the field and the scoreboard. The Eagles offense, outside of Barkley, has been struggling as of late. The Rams will need their offense to play complementary football in order to limit the opportunities for Saquon to do damage. I would guess that given the weather conditions and the need to control the clock, the Rams will use Kyren Williams a ton in today’s game.

This Eagles defense was the 10th ranked rush defense, allowing 104 yards per game. Kyren Williams averaged 81.2 yards per game this season. While it isn’t as a big of a discrepancy as I would like to see in the numbers, the game conditions are going to call for the Rams to run the ball. Additionally, the Eagles pass defense is the best pass defense in the NFL. So, there was going to be limited options through the air, even without the weather. Look for a run heavy game today and look for Kyren Williams to be able to gain over 75 yards.

The second game kicks off in Buffalo where the weather is going to be very cold. It is supposed to be around 19 degrees at kickoff and they are calling for snow to start at around 8 PM. That means that this will be a physical game between the Ravens and Bills. The Ravens showed earlier this year that they were able to be the more physical team in a 35-10 blowout. In that game, the Ravens ran for 271 yards against this Bills defense. Since we are officially in “Derrick Henry” season, it would be hard to see the Ravens implement any other plan tonight. Additionally, the Bills tend to run nickel defense more than the rest of the league. The Ravens LOVE to run against nickel defense because they are able to impose their will on the defense. We will see if Sean McDermott is able to make adjustments to contain this Ravens run game. On the other side of the ball, is Josh Allen. Allen has been spreading the ball all over the field this year but his number 1 target has been Khalil Shakir. Shakir does not take the top off the defense or breaks off explosive plays but has been the reliable target on 3rd downs and short yardage situations. Against a Ravens defense that is 31st against the pass, the Bills will have chances to throw the ball in situations that calls for it. Allen will certainly look for his top target in Shakir. He should have plenty of opportunities to gain over 50 yards tonight.
