It’s Week 6 in the NFL and we have another early start to a Sunday. The games today begin in London at 9:30 between the Jets and Broncos. We are starting 0-1 this week but we have plenty of time to turn it around today. I have gone through todays slate and provided 5 Best Bets for today. I had Jamie pick the winner of the Seahawks – Jaguars game, as that the closest to a toss-up that we have today. Let’s make some money!
First things first, the Best Bets:
Best Bets
- J.K Dobbins Rush Yards over 69.5
- Zay Flowers Receiving Yards over 44.5
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba Receiving Yards over 84.5
- Christian McCaffrey Rush + Rec Yards over 112.5
- Tyquan Thorton Receiving Yards over 23.5
Best Bet Background- J.K Dobbins Rush Yards over 69.5
The Jets and Broncos are traveling to London to kick off the Sunday games at 9:30 AM ET this morning. The Jets are a team that is seemingly lost at sea. They are 0-5 on the year and are not expected to get their first win today. They are 7 points under dogs against the Broncos. As Denver will most likely be running the ball, the best bet for this game is the rushing over for J.K Dobbins. The Jets are allowing 140 rush yards per game which is 27th in the league. Dobbins has run over this total in the past 4 games. I would expect more of the same as the Broncos should be leading in this game.
Best Bet Background – Zay Flowers Receiving Yards over 44.5
Flowers is the primary target in the Ravens offense. He has gone over this total in 4 of 5 games so far this year. He is facing a Rams secondary that is allowing 215 pass yards per game. Despite having Cooper Rush as his quarterback last week, he still managed 5 catches and 72 yards against a tough Texans secondary last week. The Ravens are on the precipice of their season truly falling apart and need to find a way to win today. The Rams are a heavy favorite so the Ravens will most likely be playing from behind. That means that they will continue to throw the ball and Flowers should be the primary beneficiary.
Best Bet Background – Jaxon Smith-Njigba Receiving Yards over 84.5
The Seahawks are traveling to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. This game has the potential to be a shootout. Both defenses let up a lot of yards through the air. The Jaguars are allowing 250 yards per game, which is 27th in the NFL. The main receiving threat for the Seahawks has been Jaxon Smith-Njigba(JSN). JSN is has gone over this mark in 4 of 5 games this year. He has a favorable matchup in a game that could see fireworks all game. I would expect Sam Darnold to continue to target JSN early and often to keep the Hawks in the game.
Best Bet Background – Christian McCaffrey Rush + Rec Yards over 112.5
McCaffrey has been the workhorse for this 49ers offense that is missing several of their players. He currently leads the team in both rushing and receiving. He has gone over this total in 4 of 5 games this year. He and the 9ers are taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today. The Bucs have made a habit of forcing games to go down to the wire. Whether the 49ers are winning or losing, CMC should continue to get touches. I would expect him to continue his workload to help the 9ers to stay in this game.
Best Bet Background – Tyquan Thorton Receiving Yards over 23.5
The Chiefs are taking on the Lions in the primetime game. The Chiefs have been struggling to finish games and are sitting at 2-3 on the season. Tonight, they host the 4-1 Detroit Lions. Despite the Chiefs being 2-point favorites, I believe that the Lions are going to be in control of this game. That points to the Chiefs having to come from behind. They already struggle to run the ball outside of Patrick Mahomes’ scrambling. The leading receiver for this team has been Tyquan Thorton. That is mainly due to the Chiefs receiving corps being decimated by injury and suspension. However, Thorton has stepped up to be a reliable down the field target for Mahomes. He has gone over the 23.5-yard mark in 4 of 5 games played this year. In each of those games, he has had a reception for over 30 yards. Tonight, the Lions will be without starting corner Terrion Arnold. That makes this line much more achievable. I would expect Thorton to continue to work his way into this offense and would not be surprised if he passes this line in just 1 catch.
Jamie’s Pick of The Week
Jamie is on a hot streak so far this year. He is 5-0 in his picks. Today, he will be picking the winner of the Seahawks – Jaguars game. 56% of the public bets are being placed on the Seahawks. Let’s see if Jamie can keep his streak going!
