It’s Week 7 in the NFL and once again, we have an early start to a Sunday. The games today begin in London at 9:30 between the Rams and Jaguars. We are starting 1-0 this week after a great Thursday Night game between the Bengals and Steelers. I have gone through todays slate and provided 5 Best Bets for today. I had Jamie pick the winner of the Colts- Chargers game, as that the closest to a toss-up that we have today. Let’s make some money!
First things first, the Best Bets:
Best Bets
- Tyler Higbee Receiving Yards over 27.5
- Justin Jefferson Receiving Yards over 84.5
- Travis Kelce Receiving Yards over 38.5
- Jayden Daniels Rush Yards over 45.5
- Kendrick Bourne Receiving Yards over 47.5
Best Bet Background- Tyler Higbee Receiving Yards over 27.5
The Sunday slate is starting early over in London. The Rams are taking on the Jaguars. Both teams have gotten off to a 4-2 start and are looking to continue to build on their early success. There have been some major injuries that will keep key players out of this game. Rams’ receiver, Puca Nacua, will be out today. Jags linebacker, Devin Lloyd, will also be missing in action. That opens the door for a big day from Tyler Higbee. Higbee has always been a quiet contributor for this Rams offense but is still viewed as a reliable target for Matthew Stafford. With Nacua out, Davante Adams will certainly get the lion’s share of the targets. However, they will need to throw to someone else eventually. With the Lloyd injury, I would imagine that the middle of the field will be open for Higbee to go to work. Add in the fact that the Jaguars are 30th in pass yards allowed, I would expect this Rams passing offense to have a big day.
Best Bet Background – Justin Jefferson Receiving Yards over 84.5
The Vikings are hosting the Philadelphia Eagles today at 1 PM. There will always be a historical link between Justin Jefferson and the Eagles. The Eagles famously drafted Jalen Reagor one pick ahead of Jefferson. Since then, Jefferson has been in the conversation for the league’s best wide receiver and Reagor has been bouncing around the free agency pool. Today, he lines up with former Eagles quarterback, Carson Wentz, throwing him the ball. Since Wentz has been starting for the Vikings, Jefferson has been averaging 9.6 targets, 7.3 receptions, and 108 yards per game. He is facing an Eagles secondary that has big problems. Their cornerback depth was already an issue, but it took another hit last week when Quinyon Mitchell made an early exit from the Giants game. He is listed as questionable today. Even if he plays, Jefferson should be able to keep up his production against a secondary with several question marks.
Best Bet Background – Travis Kelce Receiving Yards over 38.5
The Chiefs are hosting the Raiders today in an AFC West showdown. The Kansas City offense is going to get a big boost with Rashee Rice coming back from suspension. He is being viewed as the key that will unlock this Kansas City offense. While that may be true, it remains to be seen just how heavily he will be involved in the game plan. The other main target in this offense is always going to be Travis Kelce. Kelce has obviously slowed down a bit as he is getting older but the chemistry between Mahomes and Kelce has seemingly made it’s way back to the field. Kelce has gone over this line in 5 of 6 games this year. Last week was his best game, where he went for 78 yards against a tough Detroit defense. Today, he faces a weak Raiders defense that is allowing 215 pass yards per game.
Best Bet Background – Jayden Daniels Rush Yards over 45.5
Jayden Daniels and the Commanders take on the Dallas Cowboys in Jerry world today. The Commanders are going to be without several of their top wide receivers. Which is unfortunate as they are facing the worst defense in the NFL. The cowboys are allowing teams to put up a ton of yards and points on them every week. They will be missing starting corner, Trevon Diggs, this week which should add to the pass yards allowed. With all of the injuries to wide receiver, I would expect Jayden Daniels to take matters into his own hands and use his legs to gash this weak defense. He has already run for over this total in 2/4 games that he has played. I would look for him to be used in designed runs and plenty of RPOs today to make up for the lack of receiving targets.
Best Bet Background – Kendrick Bourne Receiving Yards over 47.5
We head to San Francisco for our primetime game between the Falcons and 49ers. The storyline for the 49ers will continue to be heir mounting injuries. Out of that adversity, has emerged a redemption story for quarterback Mac Jones. Jones has filled in admirably for Brock Purdy and is getting the starting nod once again tonight. Jones’ favorite target has been Kendrick Bourne. Bourne and Jones played together in New England, so there is some familiarity already built in to this duo. Then you look at the numbers for Bourne over the past two weeks as the WR1. He has gained 142 yards in each of the last two games. He is averaging 10 targets and 7.5 catches. He should continue to get a majority of the target share tonight against a stingy Falcons defense.
Jamie’s Pick of The Week
Jamie is on a hot streak so far this year. He is 6-0 in his picks. Today, he will be picking the winner of the Colts- Chargers game. 58% of the public bets are being placed on the Colts. Let’s see if Jamie can keep his streak going!
