The NFL playoffs are finally here! They will kick off today with a double header. The first game will kick off at 4:30 between the Rams and Panthers. Then at 8, we have the Packers and the Bears facing off. I have gone through the available bets for both of these games and chosen the ones that I believe should be a lock. Let’s make some money!!
Best Bets
- Kyren Williams Rush Yards over 68.5
- Christian Watson Receiving Yards over 53.5
Best Bet Background – Kyren Williams Rush Yards over 68.5
The Rams are traveling to Charlotte to take on the Panthers. This will be a rematch of the November 30th game that took place between these teams, which was a 31-28 Panthers victory. Despite that result, the Panthers are 10.5-point underdogs today. The weather in Charlotte looks like it is going to be rainy. All of these reasons point to a run heavy game. This is why I am rolling with Kyren Williams as the best bet for this game.
Kyren Williams averaged 73.6 yards per game this season. He went over 69 yards in 10/17 games this year. One of those games was against this Carolina team. He had 13 carries for 72 yards in that matchup. The Panthers have been struggling against the run all year. They allowed 123 yards per game, which is 20th in the league. The Rams use a mix of personnel packages but they use 3 tight ends more than any other team. This lends itself to a run heavy scheme despite having Matthew Stafford at quarterback. The pass game will have its chances against this defense but I believe that the Panthers are going to be outmatched and the Rams will need to run the clock out in the second half. That is where Kyren will shine.
Best Bet Background – Christian Watson Receiving Yards over 53.5
The second game of today’s games will be between the Bears and Packers at 8 PM. This will be the 3rd game between these rivals this year. They split games in the regular season and are both looking to advance at the expense of their rivals. The Packers come into this game limping a bit. They rested starters in Week 18 but Jordan Love has been dealing with injury and they are just generally banged up on the offensive side of the ball. On the other side of the field, the Bears have been one of the more exciting storylines this year. First year head coach, Ben Johnson, has turned this roster into the 2nd overall seed in the NFC. The offense is clicking but the defense has some major question marks. The Bears have been able to overcome poor defense by forcing turnovers However, as the playoffs start, teams will be less likely to turn the ball over. That means that this Chicago defense could be a vulnerability to be exploited.
The Bears defense is a big reason why I believe Christian Watson is in for a big dy. Watson missed several games with injuries this year but when healthy, he has shown himself to be Jordan Love’s favorite target down the field. He is the clear deep threat in this offense. He should be able to take advantage of this Bears defense that allowed 227 pass yards per game.
