Week 6 started with another Thursday Best Bet cashing in the first half. We needed just one catch for 15 yards by Zach Charbonnet to get an easy win. It was a great way to start the week. The Sunday games have some great matchups. I’ve gone through the slate and picked a Best Bet from each time slot today and provided some background on each. I have put together a parlay for the day as well. Let’s make some money.
Best Bets
- Caleb Williams Pass Yards o236.5
- Jayden Daniels Passing Yards o225.5
- Jahmyr Gibbs Rush Yards o60.5
- Tyrone Tracy Jr Rush Yards o58.5
Best Bet Background- Caleb Williams Pass Yards o236.5
Williams and the Bears offense has really picked it up after a slow start to the season. After a horrendous season debut, Caleb Williams has passed for over 300 yards in two of the past four games. Caleb seems to be finding a rhythm with his receivers. There is still some “boom-or-bust” style to his play as he is either over 300 yards or under 200. However, he faces a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that is dead last in the league in yards allowed through the air. In their last two games, they allowed both CJ Stroud and Joe Flacco to throw for over 300 yards. In their game against the Bills, Josh Allen had over 200 yards in the first half. Going back to week 1, they allowed Tua to throw for over 300 yards. The only QB that they have been able to contain was Deshaun Watson and Watson has been one of the worst quarterbacks, if not the worst, in the league. Additionally, the Bears struggle to run the ball consistently. For all the woes fo the Jags pass defense, they have been solid against the run. I expect the Bears to be throwing the ball a lot against this porous Jacksonville defense. Look for Caleb Williams to have a big day through the air.
Best Bet Background- Jayden Daniels Passing Yards o225.5
Jayden Daniels has been a phenom so far in his young career. He has led the Commanders to a 4-1 start and has dazzled with his explosive plays, both through the air and on the ground. He has his greatest test this week as he faces the Baltimore Ravens. Daniels has passed for at least 226 in 4 out of 5 games that he has played in so far. The outlier was the week 1 matchup against the Bucs where he struggled to find a rhythm in the air. He has a favorable matchup in the Ravens pass defense this week. While the Ravens have a very stout run defense, they let up a lot of yards through the air. They are 31st in pass yards allowed. They have been finding ways to win games late but they are still letting up gaudy numbers through the air. Jayden will have to make plays with his legs but has shown the ability to scramble to set up a long pass. He will have another big day in this DMV showdown.
Best Bet Background – Jahmyr Gibbs Rush Yards o60.5
The Lions are taking on the Dallas Cowboys in what should be the best game of the 4 PM window. Detroit come into this game boasting the 6th best rushing offense in the league. They have an opportunity to move up the rankings as they take on the 24th ranked rush defense in the league. The Lions have shown that they don’t mind running the ball in critical situations and games this week. They have a two headed monster coming out of the backfield with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs splitting touches. Of the two backs, Gibbs has been the more consistent in terms of yard production. He has rushed for over 61 yards in 3 out of the 4 games. Normally, a split backfield would cause concern for this type of bets but the Lions love to get both of these guys involved. Look for both backs but Gibbs in particular to have a lot of yards against a Dallas defense that will struggle to defend this Lions offense.
Best Bet Background – Tyrone Tracy Jr Rush Yards o58.5
Tracy Jr. stepped up in a big way against the Seahawks last week. With Devin Singletary out, the rookie put up a stat line of 18 carries for 129 yards. He averaged 7.2 yards a carry behind this much improved Giants offensive line. Devin Singletary has been ruled out again for the Sunday night matchup against the Bengals, so it will be the Tracy show again. The Bengals defense has been the Achilles heel for this team. While the Bengals offense can score at will, the defense is the reason that they are 1-4. They currently allow 29 points a game which is 31st in the game. They are particularly weak against the run game. Currently, they allow 151 yards a game which is 30th in the NFL. The Giants will never truly be out of this game and Tracy figures to be a key player in tonight’s game. Head coach and play caller Brian Daboll likes to use the run game to set up the pass game. This is the perfect opponent for that type of gameplan. Look for the Giants to run early and often and look for Tracy Jr. to have another big game running the rock.
