Our Best Bets went 2-2 yesterday and stand at 2-3 for the week. Tonight, we have a Monday Night Football game between the Bengals and the Cowboys. this continues the trend for the weekend of not great match ups. However, while this looks bad on paper, there is potential for a back-and-forth game. I have gone through the available bets for tonight and picked the one that I think will hit. This game has also been chosen as the Jamie Pick of the Week! Jamie will be picking the winner, so make sure to check out his choice on Instagram and X. Let’s make this money!

Bengals @ Cowboys
The 4-8 Bengals are traveling to Dallas to take on the 5-7 Cowboys. Both of these teams have not been having the seasons that either of them envisioned. The Bengals have a high-flying offense but has been let down by their defense all year long and continues to find ways to lose games. The Cowboys have seemingly hit a breaking point with the Mike McCarthy tenure, as they are having the worst season under his leadership. All of this does not necessarily point to a great game tonight, but you never know in the NFL.
Bengals Overview
The Bengals offense is clearly not the issue for this losing team. They are 5th in the NFL in points, averaging 27.9 points per game. Joe Burrow is doing everything that he possibly can to get his team in positions to win these games. He is leading the league’s top passing attack, and they have still lost 8 games. The Bengals are averaging 264 yards per game through the air, which is 1st in the NFL. They are not getting much help from their run game, as they are ranked 27th in the league, averaging 91 yards per game. That being said, Chase Brown has become an effective weapon in both the run and pass game in recent weeks. I would consider looking at him for an anytime TD tonight.
The Cincinnati defense has been the main issue for this team. They are allowing 28.3 points per game, which puts them at 31st in the league. It has been a head-scratching season for this Bengals defense that was once thought to be at the top of the league. Losing players to free agency has finally caught up to this team. They are allowing 241 pass yards per game, which is 27th in the league, and 128 rush yards per game, which is 22nd in the league. They have been able to consistently stop anyone all year. They are facing a Dallas offense that has struggled with consistency, but they have found a little groove over the last two games.
Cowboys Overview
The Dallas offense has been struggling to score points on a consistent basis. They are averaging 20.7 points per game, which is 21st in the league. However, they face a Cincy defense that has the potential to get Dallas back on track. The Cowboys have shown in recent weeks that when they face poor defense, they can score. They will move the ball primarily through the air. They are ranked 7th, averaging 236 yards per game. Similar to the Bengals, they struggle to run the ball. They are ranked 31st in rushing, averaging 85 yards per game. If they are going to win this game, they will need to take advantage of the Bengals’ poor pass defense.
On defense, the Cowboys have not been able to replicate their success of a year ago. They are allowing 28.3 points per game, which is 29th in the league. Surprisingly, they have been fairly decent against the pass. They are allowing 212 yards per game, which is 13th in the league. They ill certainly be put to the test against the Bengals passing offense. Against the run, is a different story. The Cowboys are allowing 147 rush yards per game, which puts them at 31st in the league. There may be some opportunities for Chase Brown to rack up some yards tonight.
Best Bet Background – Over 49.5
With both defenses being in the bottom 5 in terms of points allowed, it seems like tonight’s game has the potential to be a high scoring affair. Considering the high scoring capability of the Bengals offense, they should account for a bulk of the points. Additionally, both of these teams are hitting the over at a high clip. The Bengals are 9-3 against the over this season. The Cowboys are 8-4 this year. These trends should continue tonight.
