5 Player Props for Today’s Games

Week 5 kicks off bright and early with another NFL Sunday starting in London. Our Thursday Best Bet fell short, but we have plenty of time to get things right. I have gone through the slate today and picked 5 Best Bets for the day and provided some background on each. I have also included Jamie’s pick of the week. Let’s make some money!

First things first, the Best Bets:

Best Bets

  • Bhayshal Tuten Rush Yards over 65.5
  • Giants +3.5
  • Vikings -1.5
  • Jacoby Brissett Pass Yards over 265.5
  • Drake London Receiving Yards over 80.5

Best Bet Background – Bhayshal Tuten Rush Yards over 65.5

The second London game of the year will feature the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Jaguars enter this game as 7.5 point favorites and are the slated home team for this game. The Jaguars have had the most experience in London when compared to any other NFL team. They have played 13 games and are 7-6 in London. Today, they are taking on an Eagles team that is banged up and trending in the wrong direction. The Eagles will be without Saquon Barkley and Devonta Smith on offense. They will also be trotting out a new offensive line with the recent retirement of Lane Johnson and the trade of Cam Jurgens, both occurring this week. All that is to say, I believe that the Jags are going to be playing with the lead and will lean on their run game today. Bhaysal Tuten is averaging just under 70 yards per game this year. He has gone over this particular line in 2/4 games thus far. He has a good matchup today against a Philly defense that is allowing 122 rush yards per game. I would expect the Jaguars to run the ball a lot in the second half of this game and Tuten should easily gain over 66 yards.

Best Bet Background – Giants +3.5

We head into the 1 PM window and I am looking at the game between the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants. The Commanders are 1-3 and are coming back from tough loss in London to the Colts. They will get their starting QB, Jayden Daniels, back from injury today, which should boost their offense. Daniels has a history of beating the Giants, winning all 3 games against them. However, this is a new look Giants team that is currently 3-1 and leading the NFC East. They are also 3-1 against the spread this season. The Commanders are going to be without Stefon Diggs on offense and will playing shorthanded once again on their offensive line. That does not bode well against a Giants defense that likes to get after the QB. On the other side of the field. the Giants, have been employing a physical brand of football, which will work in their favor today as the weather is supposed to be bad throughout the game. The true wild card will always be the play of Jameis Winston but he showed during a Nor’easter that he is capable of managing a game while not turning into the gunslinger everyone has come to expect. I think the hook on the 3 point spread will be important and I think the Giants either win or lose by a field goal.

Best Bet Background – Vikings -1.5

The Saints are hosting the Vikings today in New Orleans. The Saints are coming off of a short week after getting blown out on Monday Night Football by the Falcons. That game exposed some serious issues with this Saints team, primarily their run defense and their ability to protect the QB from pressure. The second note is going to be vital to this matchup as they take on a Vikings defense that lives to blitz the QB. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores has the highest blitz rate in the league with 78.2%. That means the Tyler Shough is going to be under duress all game. The Vikings are most likely not going to put up a ton of points today, but they will have a chance to run the ball effectively against a Saints defense that just allowed over 200 rush yards to the Falcons. I believe that this will be a low scoring game but the Vikings should be able to pull out a win and should win by more than 2 points.

Best Bet Background – Jacoby Brissett Pass Yards over 265.5

The 4 PM window only has 3 games so I am going to focus on the game that should have the most offensive output today. The Arizona Cardinals are hosting the Detroit Lions in Arizona. The Lions are going to be a team that I circle every week because they have one of the worst defenses in the league. they are allowing the 31st most points per game in the league, the 32nd (last place) pass yards per game, and the 21st most rush yards per game. Quarterbacks are having career days against this defense every week and today, it is Jacoby Brissetts turn. Brissett has gone over this line 2/4 games this year and really only struggled against the Seahawks, who have a great defense, and the Giants in the elements last week. The Lions have a high-powered offense that can score, so this will most likely be another shootout for them. Jacoby Brissett could be playing from behind or just trading punches with this Detroit offense all day. Either way, he might end up with over 300 pass yards when it is all said and done.

Best Bet Background – Drake London Receiving Yards over 80.5

The Primetime game will be between the Baltimore Ravens and the Atlanta Falcons. The Ravens will be without QB Lamar Jackson tonight, which means that Yler “Snoop” Huntley will get the start. The Falcons are on a 2-game win streak and are ending a 3-game run on being in primetime games. With the Jackson injury and the inconsistency of the Falcons, this game is a difficult one to predict so I am looking at the matchup between the Atlanta pass game and the Ravens secondary. The Raven’s defense is allowing 215 pass yards per game this year. The Falcons are averaging 179 pass yards per game on offense, but that includes 2 games of Cooper Rush. Michael Penix returned 2 weeks ago and has thrown for 479 yards in those two games. His primary target has been Drake London, who has 20 receptions for 370 yards on the season. Sionce Penix returned to the lineup, London has registered games of 194 yards and 96 yards. He will have a favorable matchup tonight and should continue to build on this 2-game stretch.

Jamie’s Pick of The Week

Jamie is also back with his pick of the week! Let’s see if the boy can start off with a win by picking the winner of the 49ers-Seahawks game.
