5 Player Props for Today’s Games

Week 6 kicks off bright and early with another NFL Sunday starting in London. Our Thursday Best Bet fell short, but we have plenty of time to get things right. I have gone through the slate today and picked 5 Best Bets for the day and provided some background on each. I have also included Jamie’s pick of the week. Let’s make some money!

First things first, the Best Bets:

Best Bets

  • Bhayshul Tuten Receiving Yards over 10.5
  • Panthers -3
  • Steelers -2.5
  • Brock Bowers Receiving Yards over 79.5
  • Matthew Golden Receiving Yards over 65.5

Best Bet Background – Bhayshul Tuten Receiving Yards over 10.5

We are going back to the well for our London Best Bet. Bhaysul Tuten delivered for us last Sunday and I am hoping that he will do so again, this time through the air. Tuten is currently averaging 15.6 receiving yards per game and has gone over the 10.5 mark in 4/5 games this season. The Jaguars are facing their division rival, the Houston Texans, in what could be another sloppy London game. The outcome of this matchup is pretty much up in the air, even with the Jags having the better record. The Texans find themselves 1-4 and oddly enough, defense has been their issue. Specifically, their pass defense has not been performing well. They are allowing 234 yards per game, which is 23rd in the league. They have been stout against the run, allowing just 78 yards per game, which is 3rd in the league. The Jaguars have a pretty balanced attack on offense, but it looks like the run game might be taken away today. That means that Tuten will become an important part in the pass game as they want to get him the ball to make plays. I would expect him to have a few catches that go over the 11 yards mark today.

Best Bet Background – Panthers -3

The Panthers are traveling to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. The Eagles are currently fighting the injury bug and are coming back from a tough loss in London. They will be without their starting quarterback, Jaeln Hurts, due to blood clots. In his place will be Tanner McKee who has had very limited regular season action in his short career. Philly is down to their 4th string running back. They still have a mess of an offensive line. Prior to these issues, the offense was not performing well to begin with. They are averaging 18.4 points per game, which is 29th in the league. They face a Carolina team that has been scoring 30.3 points per game and is coming off of a bye last week. This one will probably be closer than anticipated but it is hard to see how the Eagles keep pace with this high powered offense while they are unable to move the ball themselves.

Best Bet Background – Steelers -2.5

The 3-2 Steelers are traveling down to Tampa Bay to take on the 1-4 Buccaneers. The Bucs have yet to win a home game and are 0-3 at Raymond James Stadium. the Bucs will once again be without Baker Mayfield and will be starting Jalon Daniels. Daniels had a great national debut last Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys as he led them to a big upset victory. Today, he faces a much more established defense and might find it much more difficult to move the ball. On the other side, the Steelers just had their best offensive output all year, scoring 34 against the Colts. They face a strong Tampa defense but one that certainly has holes. The Bucs secondary has been allowing 226 yards per game, which is 20th in the league. The Steelers employ a balanced attack of the pass and run and should be able to pick and choose how they want to attack this Tampa defense. The lack of ability for Tampa Bay to score points is why I am picking the Steelers. this will most likely be a defensive game that is decided by a field goal and I have more faith in the Steelers offense than the Bucs.

Best Bet Background – Brock Bowers Receiving Yards over 79.5

The 4 PM window only has 3 games so I am betting on the one that is most likely to be the one with the most offensive output. The Raiders are hosting the Bills in Las Vegas. The Bills just had an overtime win against the Rams on Monday night and are coming back to the west coast on a short week. The Raiders were just blown out by the Patriots last week and are looking to right the ship after dropping 2 straight games. While this game could go sideways, it has all the potential to be a shootout. Both offenses are top 10 in terms of points scored and both defenses are struggling to keep opponents out of the endzone. that being said, I am going with Brock Bowers as my best bet. He is clearly the best offensive weapon for the Raiders and has the trust of Kirk Cousins. In just 3 games this year, Bowers has gone over 100 yards in each of them. The Bills have the 31st ranked pass defense in the league, allowing 280 pass yards per game. The matchup heavily favors Bowers. Additionally, there is a good chance that the game script has Buffalo in the lead and requires the Raiders to continue throwing or a shootout where both teams are throwing. Either way, it favors Bowers and his over.

Best Bet Background – Matthew Golden Receiving Yards over 65.5

The primetime game will be between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. this is a classic Sunday Night Football matchup and should be a good game to end the Sunday slate. Dallas is 2-3 and comes into this game with a high-powered pass game and a terrible defense. The Packers, have a high-powered pass offense and a serviceable defense. Points and yards should be at a premium tonight. I am taking Matthew Golden as my pick tonight. Golden is averaging 79.4 receiving yards per game this year and has gone over this line in 3/5 games this year. He faces a Dallas defense that is allowing 227 pass yards per game, which is 21st in the NFL. The Packers are well suited for this matchup as they are really only built to throw the ball. They have the 4th best pass game in the league and the worst run game in the league. At some point, you just know that they will be throwing against this weak Dallas secondary. Golden has the speed and ability to break away from coverage and gain big chunks through the air. In a game that could also be a bit of a shoutout, I would expect Golden to have a big night.

Jamie’s Pick of The Week

Jamie is also back with his pick of the week! Let’s see if the boy can start off with a win by picking the winner of the Giants – Saints game.
