It’s Week 11 in the NFL and we are once again starting with an international game. The Sunday slate kicks off at 9:30 AM in Madrid. I have gone through the entire slate and put together 5 Best Bets for today. I also had Jamie pick the winner of the Lions – Eagles game, as that the closest to a toss-up that we have today. Let’s make some money!
First things first, the Best Bets:
Best Bets
- Jaylen Waddle Receiving Yards over 76.5
- Ladd McConkey Receiving Yards over 61.5
- Cade Otton Receiving Yards over 37.5
- Christian McCaffrey Receiving Yards over 52.5
- Jahmyr Gibbs Receiving + Rush Yards over 86.5
Best Bet Background- Jaylen Waddle Receiving Yards over 76.5
We have a matchup between the Commanders and Dolphins to start off the slate in Madrid. Both of these teams have been struggling early in the season, and both have a 3-7 record. There have been plenty of injuries on both of these teams. One of the more impactful injuries for the Dolphins was the loss of Tyreek Hill for the season. It took away a player capable of the big play in an offense that relies heavily on speedy receivers. In Hill’s absence, Jaylen Waddle has stepped up as WR1 for this Phins offense. The Commanders have the 31st ranked pass defense, allowing an average of 260 yards per game. Waddle has been consistently gaining over 80 yards in games since Hill went down with his injury. The only exception in that 6-game stretch was a windy day in Cleveland. He has a favorable matchup today against an aging secondary so I would expect Waddle to gain over 77 yards today.
Best Bet Background – Ladd McConkey Receiving Yards over 61.5
The Chargers are taking on the Jaguars today in Jacksonville. They bring with them a 7th ranked pass offense that is being led by Justin Herbert. Herbert has plenty of options at his disposal but for the 2ndyear in a row, he has started to lean on Ladd McConkey. McConkey is the team’s leading receiver with 51 receptions, 631 yards, and 4 TDs. He has gotten more use as of late. He has gone over his line of 61.5 yards in 4/5 of his last games. Today, he faces a Jaguars defense that is allowing 252 yards per game, which makes them the 28th ranked pass defense. Just last week, they allowed Nico Collins, with Davis Mills at qb, to carve them up with 136 yards. I would expect Herbert and Ladd to enjoy similar success today.
Best Bet Background – Cade Otton Receiving Yards over 37.5
The Buccaneers are traveling to Buffalo to take on the Bills. This has the potential to be a shootout which means plenty of offense and points. The Bucs are going to be shorthanded on offense once again, with Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving not playing. In their absence, Baker Mayfield has been leaning on Cade Otton. Otton has had 40+ yards in 5 straight games. The Bills have a tough pass defense but the Bucs are one of those teams that will find ways to move the ball against tough defenses. Given the fact that the Bucs are 5.5 underdogs, it is expected that they are going to be playing from behind. That type of game script lends itself well to the Bucs passing often. I would expect Baker to continue to lean on his tight end and for Otton to continue his run of 40+ yards.
Best Bet Background – Christian McCaffrey Receiving Yards over 52.5
Entering the 4 PM slot, we have a familiar best bet. CMC has been a beast in the pass game for the 49ers. he has gained 50+ yards in 9/10 games this year. He gets his starting quarterback, Brock Purdy, back today. Purdy will most likely lean on CMC as many of the other 49er weapons remain injured. They are playing the Arizona Cardinals who are allowing 225 pass yards per game. With CMC being the safety option as well as the main receiving threat, I would imagine that he should gain 53 or more yards through the air.
Best Bet Background – Jahmyr Gibbs Receiving + Rush Yards over 86.5
The primetime game tonight will be between the Lions and the Eagles. It is a big game for with playoff seeding implications. The winner will take the top spot in the NFC. Last week, the Lions switched up their offensive play caller. Dan Campbell took over the play call, and we saw the return of the expected Detroit Lions offense. One of the benefactors was Jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs had 172 total yards. Tonight, they face an Eagles defense that has been inconsistent through the year. They are the 19th ranked run defense, and the 14th ranked pass defense in the league. I would imagine that the Lions will get creative with Jahmyr Gibbs to take over this game. Gibbs has gone over the line of 87 total yards in 6/9 games this year. With a new play caller and a defense that has been letting up yards to running backs, Gibbs should have a big game tonight.
Jamie’s Pick of The Week
Jamie’s got back in the winners column last week in a thrilling comeback by the Texans. He is 7-3 in his picks. Today, he will be headed to primetime and picking the winner of the Lions- Eagles game. 61% of the public bets are being placed on the Eagles. Let’s see if Jamie can start stacking wins again!
