It’s Week 12 in the NFL and we are hitting the reset button on our Best Bet streak after Thursdays bet failed to come home. I have gone through the entire slate and put together 5 Best Bets for today. I also had Jamie pick the winner of the Steelers – Bears game, as that the closest to a toss-up that we have today. Let’s make some money!
First things first, the Best Bets:
Best Bets
- Jahmyr Gibbs Receiving + Rush Yards over 108.5
- Drake Maye Passing Yards over 256.5
- George Pickens Receiving Yards over 65.5
- Kyren Williams Rush Yards over 58.5
Best Bet Background- Jahmyr Gibbs Receiving + Rush Yards over 108.5
The Detroit Lions are hosting the New York Giants at 1 PM today. The books expect this game to be a blowout with the Lions being favored by 10.5 points. The Lions should be leaning on their running backs in this game as they will most likely have the lead and because the Giants are the 30th ranked rushing defense in the league. That means it could be a big day for both Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. Gibbs is the bigger threat to this defense as he has blazing speed and is used in both the run and pass game. The Giants have struggle to defend against versatile running backs. Gibbs is averaging 106.6 total yards per game this year. However, this is such a favorable matchup that he should be able to overachieve.
Best Bet Background – Drake Maye Passing Yards over 256.5
Drake Maye has been on an MVP pace this year. He is averaging 257.8 pass yards per game. He has gone over 256 yards in the last 4 games. Today, he is facing the Bengals and their 31st ranked pass defense. The Bengals have struggled to stop anyone through the air (or on the ground) and have been letting opposing quarterbacks light them up. Typically, I would be worried abut a blowout and the Patriots relying on their run game more throughout this game. However, the Bengals have the offense to keep them in the game and force a shootout. I would expect Drake Maye to have a big day in the box score.
Best Bet Background – George Pickens Receiving Yards over 65.5
The 4 PM slate is not the best but we have an NFC East matchup that typically does not disappoint. The Eagles are traveling to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. The Cowboys have one of the best offenses in the game and they will need to lean on that if they want any chance of winning this game. George Pickens has been a focal point of this passing offense. He is averaging over 90 yards per game and has the ability to get chunks on deep shots. The Eagles have a decent defense but can allow the other team to rack up yards even if they do not score much. I would expect the Cowboys to lean on their strength and throw the ball to Pickens. Pickens should be matched up with someone other than Quinyon Mitchell, which is a favorable matchup for Pickens.
Best Bet Background – Kyren Williams Rush Yards over 58.5
The Primetime game between the Bucs and Rams is going to be a great game to end the day on. The Rams are vying for the top spot in the NFC and the Bucs are trying to right the ship as their injuries continue to pile up. For that reason, I believe that the Rams are going to ultimately be the victor in this game. While Matthew Stafford and this Rams passing offense gets a lot of attention, the run game is also vital to the success of this team. Kyren Williams is currently averaging 75 rush yards per game. He has gone over 58.5 yards in 8/10 games this year. The Bucs defense has been fairly good against the run, but I believe that this line is low enough that Williams should be able to overcome it.
Jamie’s Pick of The Week
Jamie’s picks are the only picks that are winning consistently for us this year. He is 8-3 in his picks. Today, he will be picking the winner of the Steelers – Bears game. 60% of the public bets are being placed on the Bears. Let’s see if Jamie can keep it going!
